Two outstanding recipients were recently selected to be awarded the Sergeant Terence Carraway Memorial Scholarship. The scholarship was provided by the Florence Police Fund. This is a need based scholarship that is annually awarded to one recipient from Florence County School District High Schools, and one recipient from Darlington County School District High Schools. Established in January 2019, this scholarship is to honor the life of Sergeant Terrence Carraway (E.O.W. 10/03/2018), who’s passion was continued for the advancement of youth in the Florence and Darlington communities.

Gracie Epps, recipient selected from Darlington County, wrote an inspirational heartfelt essay and was selected out of sixteen applicants. She was crowned 2019 Homecoming Queen at Darlington High School, participates in various extra-curricular actives, such as Varsity Volleyball and Softball, and is a part of the Key Club. She also is a part of Student Government and Early College Honors Program. Future plans for Gracie Epps includes pursuing a field of study in Special Education at Coastal Carolina.
